Service Description

Rwanda has developed and operationalized the Carbon Registry to track and maintain records for Internationally Transferred Mitigation Outcomes (ITMOs). This registry ensures proper accounting of carbon credits and efforts toward climate mitigation, preventing double counting of emissions reductions and facilitating the international transfer of carbon credits.

Application process and timing

Required Documents

To register ITMOs in the Carbon Registry, applicants must submit the following documents:

• Non-Objection Letter

• Letter of Approval

• Letter of ITMOs

• Authorization Letter of ITMOs

Processing Time

The processing time for Carbon Registry applications is determined by the relevant laws and regulations governing the registration of ITMOs.
