|REMA STAFF MEMBERS CELEBRATED THE LABOUR DAY|
As Rwanda joined the rest of the world to celebrate the Labour Day on 1st May, Staff members of Rwanda Environment Management Authority (REMA) also celebrated the event. The celebrations were held jointly with other related activities namely the swearing in of the new staff members as well as awarding the best workers.
In her remarks Dr. Rose Mukankomeje, the Director General of REMA asked the staff members to take this event as an opportunity for self assessment and aim to achieve higher results.
She also reminded them that such a day should be an occasion for the public servants to assess the contribution of their daily work to the development of the country.
She also asked the staff members who sworn in to honour the promises.
While commenting on the act of awarding the best workers, the DG said there is a reason for them to be elected and that other staff members should learn from them. She also praised the available teamwork since the elected best workers could not perform while not working in a good team.
The DG further emphasized that the daily activities of REMA can match with the theme for the day which is: “Promote Employment by Supporting Prospective Entrepreneurs”.
“All of our activities seek to help different business owners to conduct environmental friendly activities. Therefore by administering an effective service delivery, for instance, this could be our contribution in one way” she mentioned.
Given the challenges of the environment sector the DG recommended the continued team work and asked the staff members to continue aiming at higher results as well as supporting each other in all perspectives, the social included.
“With our continued team work, each being responsible, our work will become more effective” she assured.
While speaking after being awarded as the best worker, Mr. Joseph Mugabo hailed the available team work as the main factor that helped him highly perform.
“I could not achieve anything while not working in a team. This award will help me achieve more”. Mugabo said.
The awarded three best workers include Mr. Joseph Mugabo, Mrs. Juliet Kabera, and Mr. Venuste Ntaganda.
